199V just released his second single “Island” and it’s one of his most different ones yet. The beat gives off a wavy sound filled with percussions, kalimbas and light synths. Production for the track is provided by frequent collaborator Jei Bandit, the notorious Planet Giza, who were actually dubbed “the next up” by Montreal’s Kaytranada, and lastly ODDIO’s own Rawssi.
Being the second single on V’s upcoming EP, Island is a mix of a summer anthem & the song you wanna play the morning of the worst hangover of your life. It has a much more relaxed, fun sound to it. V really went digging into some new inspiration for this one!
199V’s EP titled twentytwo is set for a September 28th release with additional production by jåmvvis, Bandit of course, and Ethan Cyr. The project in it’s entirety was mastered by Dear Lola and executive produced by Ghost, Ethan Cyr and Rawssi. There’s also going to be a release party the day of the 28th and Montreal’s Le Belmont theatre. You can find a link to the event HERE.
