Jon Rivera’s Doja is his grooviest yet

Jon Rivera’s second single off his EP, Doja, sounds like taking a trip down the 80’s, with it’s vintage synths and minimal percussion sounds produced by myDirtyhaircut. As Jon croons “Why you so dead?” over the hook, you’ll feel compelled to sing the catchy lyrics as Jon once again proves that his pain-fuelled pen has become one of his strongest weapons, second only to his new-found surprising vocal range. Jon goes from deep melancholy to high falsettos with ease these days and it’s visible all over his project.

Between “Doja” and “Laying In The Sun With Your Soul”, the anticipation for Jon's project only grows larger as we are excited to see exactly what to expect from the Goodbye, Lightspeed project.

Here’s Jon's take on the song; “Doja is the perfect spring vibe track. I wrote it thinking about how a lot of men put themselves into situations with women where we all end up going like”wtf did I get myself into?”, and vice versa.”
